Extravagant Sofa Set includes two single-seaters, one twin-seater, one four-seater, one coffee table, and two side tables

Our majestic Louis XVI sofa set was named after the last King of France, Louis-Auguste, who was born on August 23, 1754, in the Palace of Versailles. During the King’s 19-year reign, a distinct style for architecture, furniture, decorative, and art was evolved. This became known as the “Louis XVI style” and it was characterised by elegance and neoclassism, a return to ancient Greek and Roman models. Most of the Louise XVI furniture was specially designed and made for his wife, Queen Marie Antoinette's chambers in the Palace of Versailles, Palace of Fontainebleau, Palace of the Tuileries, and other royal homes. The lavish and opulent furniture were made only by the most notable craftsmen of the time, including Jean-Henri Riesener, Georges Jacob, Martin Carlin, and Jean-François Leleu. Our grand sofa is inspired by the Louise XVI style, and it attempts to capture the essence of the lavish, royal lifestyle of the last King of France that so many envied.
