This work of art sofa set is named after one of the most famous painters of all time. Italian painter and architect, Raphael, is a known leading figure in Italian High Renaissance classicism. His paintings are acclaimed for their clarity of form, ease of composition, and visual realisation of the Neoplatonic ideal of human grandeur. It is no wonder that he, along with Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, are responsible for shaping this era in art history. In 1520, Raphael tragically died at the young age of 37. Regardless of his relatively short life, Raphael left behind an impressive legacy and his reputation only grew after his death. In Vasari’s words, "possessors of such rare and numerous gifts as were seen in [Raphael], are not merely men, but mortal gods."
