Introducing Louise from our de la Royale Collection. Louise is named after one of the greatest still life painters in the Baroque Era, Louise Moillon. Like many other female artists of the time, she came from a family of artists and was exposed to oil painting techniques from an early age. She was lauded by her contemporaries and had a number of notable patrons, including King Charles I of England, as well as French nobility. During her lifetime, Louise Moillon created about 40 artworks, which are presently held in museums and private collections.
